How to Reserve a Purebred Golden Retriever Puppy with Us

Step 1: Submit an Application Below

Start by filling out our Puppy Application located below. Please double check which application you are filling out in regard to our purebred Golden Retrievers. This helps us get to know you, your lifestyle, and what you're hoping for in a puppy so we can ensure a good match.

For the safety of our dogs and the privacy of our home, we do not allow visits to meet our dogs or puppies unless you’ve submitted an approved application and placed a reservation fee. This helps protect our young puppies from outside germs and prevents unnecessary stress on our mamas. Families with a litter placement will be invited by appointment only to visit on Puppy Pick Day at 6 weeks old. We’re happy to offer a 20-minute FaceTime call beforehand if that helps you feel more comfortable before placing a Waitlist Fee or Litter Placement Fee.

Step 2: Application Review & Approval

Once we receive your application, we’ll receive an email notification letting us know it has been submitted. We’ll review your application and follow up if we have any questions. If approved, you’ll receive a confirmation along with information about the next steps, and we’ll be happy to answer any remaining questions you may have before you officially move forward.

PLEASE SUBMIT AN APPLICATION ONLY IF YOU ARE SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING MOVING FORWARD WITH A PUPPY.

Our puppy application is the first step in our process and must be completed and approved before we move into more detailed conversations, phone or FaceTime calls, or individualized planning for a future puppy. This allows us to first make sure that our program and one of our puppies would be an appropriate fit for your family before either of us invests significant time in the next steps.

Submitting an application does not obligate you to purchase a puppy or pay a fee. However, we do ask that you apply only if you have reviewed the general information and pricing provided on our website, are comfortable with those terms, and are financially prepared to move forward with the applicable Waitlist Enrollment Fee or Litter Placement Fee if, after approval and having your remaining questions answered, you decide you would like to proceed.

We genuinely enjoy getting to know our future puppy families and are happy to spend time answering questions once an application has been approved. We simply ask that our application process not be used as a general inquiry form by families who are casually researching breeders, are not yet financially prepared for a puppy, or have no intention of moving forward in the foreseeable future. This process helps us dedicate our time and attention to families who are genuinely interested in becoming part of the Red Valley family.

If you have not heard back from me within one week, please follow up with a text message and let me know you have submitted your application. 619-971-8513, Please don't feel as if you are bothering me by following up. Life can get busy with our family, and we do not post when we are unreachable due to keeping our dogs and our home safe. Your application is important to me, and we look forward to chatting soon!

Step 3: Place Your Reservation Fee

To secure your spot on our Master Waitlist for our Purebred Golden Retrievers, we require a $250 fee to reserve your placement. Then, once a litter is born and you’ve been notified of availability, an additional $250 is required to officially hold your intended puppy until Go-Home Day. At that point, the full $500 reservation fee becomes non-refundable and is applied toward the total purchase price of your puppy.

If you’re selecting a specific available listed puppy or claiming a spot on an available current litter after the puppies have been born, we require the full $500 non-refundable Litter Placement Fee up front to reserve your puppy until Go-Home Day. This amount also goes toward your total balance.

Please Note: Master Waitlist enrollment is valid for one year from the date your $250 Waitlist Enrollment Fee is placed. If we are unable to offer you an available puppy during that year, your enrollment will remain active at no additional cost until an opportunity becomes available. If a puppy placement is offered and you choose to decline for any reason, including timing or personal preferences, your original one-year expiration date remains unchanged. Declining an available placement does not extend or restart your enrollment period. At expiration, you may retain your current waitlist priority for an additional year by paying a non-refundable $250 Waitlist Renewal Fee.

*An offer of an available puppy or litter placement is considered an opportunity fulfilled by Red Valley Retrievers, regardless of whether you choose to move forward. Personal circumstances or preferences, including timing, coat shade, anticipated adult size, travel arrangements, or choosing to wait for a future litter, do not constitute an inability on our part to offer you a puppy. *

Step 4: Watch for Litter Announcements

When a litter is born and we’ve confirmed the number of available puppies, we begin offering spots in the order reservations were received. You’ll be contacted when a litter becomes available to you.

Step 5: Puppy Matching & Pick Day

Families who move forward with a current litter will meet the puppies in person on Puppy Pick Day, typically held when the puppies are 6 weeks old. Puppy selections are made in the order reservation fees were received.

Please note: the Breeder always retains the right to first pick of either gender, which may be exercised to keep a puppy back for future breeding. If the breeder decides not to keep a puppy from that litter, this right may be waived.

Step 6: Go-Home Day

Puppies go home at minimum 8 weeks old. Final payment is due IN CASH at pickup (no forms of digital payment such as Venmo / Zelle / PayPal etc, check, money order, or card can be accepted due to their payment platform payment policies of animal sales).

Our purebred puppies will go home with a puppy informational folder, a blanket that smells of their litter and mama, AKC Limited Registration (no breeding rights), 30 days of free pet insurance with TruPanion, their first round of age-appropriate vaccines, current deworming, a one-year genetic health guarantee, and a Vet Exam that has cleared them ready for their forever homes.

AKC Golden Retriever Puppy Application

We adore our puppy families, but to protect our home, children, and young puppies, we do not allow in-person visits unless we have an approved puppy application, a reservation in place, and an appointment scheduled. We are more than happy to virtually meet should you need to feel more confident about placing a reservation with us for an intended puppy. Thank you for understanding and supporting responsible breeding.

Please feel free to text or call with any questions you may have!
